1. About this policy
A&R Tamir Pty Ltd (ABN 78 702 540 645) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a trading and business services company based in Perth, Western Australia. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information we hold and to handling it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in that Act.
This policy explains how and why we collect personal information, how we use and disclose it, the steps we take to keep it secure, and how you can access or correct your information or make a privacy complaint. Where we do so, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of the collection as soon as practicable, in accordance with APP 5.
4. Why we collect, use and disclose it
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information so that we can:
- provide our trading and business services;
- prepare quotes and respond to enquiries;
- process orders, invoices, payments and related records;
- communicate with you about your enquiries, orders and our services;
- meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, including those relating to our ABN and GST registration;
- administer and improve our website and services.
We will only use or disclose personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, for a related secondary purpose you would reasonably expect, or otherwise where permitted or required by law (APP 6).
5. Direct marketing
We may use your contact details to send you information about our goods and services where we consider the information may be of interest to you and where the use is permitted under APP 7. Every direct marketing communication we send will tell you how you can opt out. You may also ask us at any time not to send you direct marketing communications by emailing ceo@aandrtamir.site, and we will act on your request promptly and free of charge.
6. Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including:
- service providers who assist us with website hosting, email, accounting, payment processing and administrative functions;
- professional advisers, such as our accountants, and where necessary our legal advisers;
- government agencies, regulators or law enforcement bodies where the disclosure is required or authorised by law.
Where we engage service providers to handle personal information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle that information in accordance with this policy and applicable privacy law.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we use, including cloud hosting and email providers, may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia. Where personal information is likely to be disclosed to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps, in accordance with APP 8, to ensure the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to that information.
8. Security and retention
We hold personal information in electronic records protected by appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and secure storage. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, as required by APP 11.
We keep personal information for only as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations. When the information is no longer needed and we are not required by law to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or to de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you under APP 12, or ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading under APP 13. To make a request, email ceo@aandrtamir.site with details of your request.
We will respond within a reasonable period (generally within 30 days) and will not charge you for making a request. In some circumstances permitted by the Australian Privacy Principles, we may decline to provide access or to make a correction. If that occurs, we will explain our reasons and, in the case of a correction request, give you the opportunity to have a statement associated with the information noting your claimed correction.
10. Anonymity and pseudonymity
Where lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, for example when making a general enquiry about our services. However, we will usually need your contact details and business information in order to prepare a quote, supply goods or provide services to you.
11. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. This helps us improve the website experience and the services we offer. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies or to warn you when cookies are being used; however, some parts of the website may not function fully without them. Analytics information is used in aggregate form and is not intended to identify individual visitors.
